Welcome to WYSPERS, a twisted dark fantasy from the mad mind of Johnnie Guilbert!
Johnnie is not human. Not anymore. Trapped for over a century in the Penumbra—a nightmarish realm of shadowy monsters known as Wysps—all that remains of Johnnie's past are fragments of memories and the mysterious magical tattoos carved across his body. But when he's accidentally summoned by orphans Tessa and her younger brother Kyle, Johnnie is thrust into the small town of Wyspers—an even more sinister underworld of occult rituals and ancient evil.

About the project
Inspired by his macabre motifs and emotionally explorative music, WYSPERS is a blood-drenched love letter from Johnnie Guilbert to his fans manifested in comic form. Starting as a small-town mystery that rapidly descends into misery and mayhem, WYSPERS follows a broken family—and the tortured lost soul of Johnnie as a character himself—as they try to survive a nightmarish journey riddled with psychological horror, occult terror, and the (literal) ghosts of the past refusing to stay buried. Co-developed between Johnnie Guilbert, Linda Giang, myself, the prodigious world and word weaving of writer Ryan Nichols, with gorgeously gothic art by Calista Lo, letters by Cheryl Alvarez, animated panel GIFs by Trisha Yucamco, and editorial by the great John Latham, despite the hellish horrors confronted by WYSPER’s characters—the project’s team conjured a heartfelt tale of grief, love, loss, and the painful process of mending grave mistakes even beyond the grave. As producer, I helped support and lead the team through production all the while providing creative direction aligned with Johnnie’s vision. The first season’s story wrapped at 25 chapters with plans for a physical book to follow and perhaps more waiting in the shadows…
