About the project

Although there are many, many, stories about princesses, when I created and developed the concept of The Princess Games, I wanted a story where princesses weren’t waiting to be rescued but were instead thrown into a embattled world of deadly games, political intrigue, and shifting alliances where action, betrayal, and revenge took the crown above all. As lead producer, I helped shepherd the project from concept through production alongside the brilliant writing of TWOONY, the royally gifted artists at SEER Studios, and one of the best editors in comics—Nicole D’Andria. As a team, we challenged ourselves to craft a diverse cast of princesses all with their own goals, deep-rooted histories, fears and even flaws as they vied to become the champion of the eponymous Princess Games. From the outset we wanted the evil queen’s games to be as cruel, creative, and unpredictable as the characters playing them. Across 30 episodes, the team strived to embrace and subvert the expectations of the princess as well as “killing game” genres—giving its cast the emotional complexity to make their own choices and all that it entails including victories, backstabbings (sometimes literally), and losses with life or death stakes that are not only intimately personal to each character but exhilarating to read no matter who you root for.
